Welcome to DuoWeave! Our Community Guidelines define the standards of behavior we expect from all users. These guidelines help create a safe, respectful, and authentic community.

Our Mission: DuoWeave is built on authenticity, verification, and meaningful connections. We believe in truth, respect, and genuine interactions. By using DuoWeave, you agree to uphold these values.

1. Core Principles

1.1 Authenticity

  • Be yourself. Use your real name or a recognizable pseudonym
  • Don't impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
  • Complete facial verification honestly
  • Don't create fake accounts or use bots

1.2 Respect

  • Treat others with kindness and dignity
  • Respect diverse perspectives and experiences
  • Disagree respectfully—no personal attacks
  • Honor people's pronouns and identities

1.3 Safety

  • Don't harm, threaten, or endanger others
  • Report suspicious or dangerous behavior
  • Protect your own privacy—don't share sensitive personal information publicly
  • Don't share others' private information without consent

2. Prohibited Content and Behavior

2.1 Violence and Physical Harm

Absolutely Prohibited: Any content that promotes, glorifies, or threatens violence.

Not Allowed:

  • Threats of violence against individuals or groups
  • Graphic depictions of violence or injury
  • Promotion of self-harm or suicide
  • Instructions for making weapons or explosives
  • Content glorifying terrorism or extremism

2.2 Hate Speech and Discrimination

DuoWeave has zero tolerance for hate speech. You may not attack, dehumanize, or incite hatred against people based on:

  • Race, ethnicity, or national origin
  • Religion or belief system
  • Gender or gender identity
  • Sexual orientation
  • Disability or medical condition
  • Age

2.3 Harassment and Bullying

Not Allowed:

  • Repeatedly targeting someone with unwanted contact
  • Insulting, mocking, or belittling others
  • Sharing embarrassing information to humiliate someone
  • Encouraging others to harass someone
  • Sexual harassment or unwanted sexual advances
  • Doxxing (sharing private information without consent)
  • Cyberstalking or obsessive behavior

2.4 Sexual Content

Not Allowed:

  • Nudity or sexually explicit images/videos
  • Pornography or sexually suggestive content
  • Content sexualizing minors in any way
  • Solicitation of sexual services
  • Non-consensual intimate images (revenge porn)

Exceptions: Educational, artistic, or medical content with appropriate context warnings may be allowed.

2.5 Misinformation and Fraud

DuoWeave uses AI-powered fact-checking to combat misinformation.

Not Allowed:

  • Health Misinformation: False medical claims, anti-vaccine propaganda, fake cures
  • Election Misinformation: False information about voting processes or results
  • Climate Denialism: Coordinated campaigns denying established climate science
  • Scams: Get-rich-quick schemes, pyramid schemes, phishing
  • Fake News: Deliberately fabricated stories presented as fact
  • Deepfakes: Manipulated media designed to deceive

What Happens: Content flagged as misinformation will be labeled, demoted, or removed. Repeat offenders may be suspended.

2.6 Spam and Manipulation

Not Allowed:

  • Posting repetitive or irrelevant content
  • Mass messaging or unsolicited promotions
  • Artificial engagement (buying followers, likes, or comments)
  • Coordinated inauthentic behavior (fake accounts working together)
  • Link farming or clickbait
  • Using bots or automation without permission

2.7 Illegal Activities

Absolutely Prohibited:

  • Sale or promotion of drugs, weapons, or other illegal goods
  • Human trafficking or exploitation
  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
  • Copyright infringement (see our DMCA Policy)
  • Fraud, money laundering, or other financial crimes
  • Hacking, phishing, or distribution of malware

2.8 Intellectual Property Violations

  • Don't post content you don't own or have permission to share
  • Respect copyright, trademarks, and patents
  • Don't impersonate brands or public figures
  • See our DMCA Policy for copyright claims

3. Content Standards

3.1 Post Quality

Encouraged:

  • Thoughtful, well-written posts
  • Original content and creative expressions
  • Respectful debates and discussions
  • Accurate information with credible sources

Discouraged:

  • Low-effort or meaningless posts
  • Excessive self-promotion
  • Sensationalism or rage bait
  • Off-topic or irrelevant content

3.2 Language

  • Use clear, respectful language
  • Avoid excessive profanity (some is okay, but don't overdo it)
  • Don't use slurs or derogatory terms
  • Don't ALL CAPS SHOUT at people

3.3 Media Content

  • Images/Videos: Must comply with all community guidelines
  • Gore/Violence: Graphic content must have warnings; extreme content is prohibited
  • Sensitive Content: Mark posts containing potentially disturbing content

4. Platform-Specific Guidelines

4.1 Posts and Comments

  • Stay on topic in discussions
  • Don't derail conversations
  • Use constructive criticism, not personal attacks
  • Don't brigade or coordinate mass downvoting

4.2 Direct Messages

  • Respect boundaries—don't spam or harass in DMs
  • Don't send unsolicited sexual content
  • Block users you don't want to hear from

4.3 Events

  • Only create legitimate events—no fake or spam events
  • Provide accurate event information
  • Respect event organizers and attendees
  • Don't use events for scams or illegal activities

4.4 Challenges

  • Challenges must be safe and legal
  • Don't create dangerous or harmful challenges
  • Respect challenge rules and other participants

4.5 Circles (Groups)

  • Circle admins must enforce these guidelines
  • Respect circle rules and themes
  • Don't raid or troll other circles

4.6 Live Rooms

  • Follow room topic and moderator instructions
  • Don't monopolize conversations
  • Mute yourself when not speaking
  • Report abusive behavior immediately

5. Enforcement

5.1 How We Enforce

We enforce these guidelines through:

  • AI Moderation: Automated fact-checking and content filtering
  • User Reports: Community-driven flagging
  • Human Review: Trained moderators review reported content
  • Proactive Monitoring: We scan for prohibited content

5.2 Consequences for Violations

Depending on the severity and frequency of violations, we may take the following actions:

  1. Warning: First-time or minor violations receive a warning
  2. Content Removal: Offending posts, comments, or media are deleted
  3. Temporary Suspension: Account access revoked for 24 hours to 30 days
  4. Permanent Ban: Account permanently deleted for serious or repeated violations
  5. Legal Action: Illegal activity reported to law enforcement

5.3 Appeals

If you believe we made a mistake:

  • You can appeal moderation decisions within 30 days
  • Email appeals@duoweave.com with:
    • Your username
    • Description of the issue
    • Why you believe the decision was wrong
  • We will review and respond within 7 business days

6. Reporting Violations

6.1 How to Report

If you see content or behavior that violates these guidelines:

  1. Click the "Report" button on the content
  2. Select the violation type
  3. Provide additional details (optional but helpful)
  4. Submit the report

6.2 What Happens After You Report

  • We review all reports within 24-48 hours
  • You'll receive a notification about the outcome
  • Reporters remain anonymous
  • False or abusive reports may result in consequences for the reporter

6.3 Emergency Situations

If you or someone else is in immediate danger:

  • Call local emergency services (911 in the US)
  • Contact law enforcement
  • Then report the content to us at safety@duoweave.com

7.1 Building a Positive Community

  • Welcome new users
  • Share knowledge and help others
  • Celebrate diverse perspectives
  • Give constructive feedback
  • Be patient and understanding

7.2 Protecting Yourself

  • Don't share your password or login credentials
  • Be cautious about sharing personal information
  • Use strong, unique passwords
  • Enable two-factor authentication
  • Block or report abusive users
  • Trust your instincts—if something feels wrong, it probably is

7.3 Fact-Checking Tips

  • Verify information from multiple credible sources
  • Check publication dates—is the information current?
  • Look for author credentials and expertise
  • Be skeptical of sensational headlines
  • Use DuoWeave's built-in fact-checking labels

8. Updates to These Guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time. Significant changes will be announced via:

  • In-app notification
  • Email to registered users
  • Banner on the website

Your continued use of DuoWeave after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated guidelines.
